Black Lives Matter.

I am standing with and fully support the Black Lives Matter and support the LGBTQ groups as they are protesting for their human and civil rights. As an artist it is my duty to be proactive in witnessing this period in our history and as a human it is my duty to protect all human rights. This political climate we find ourselves in ,the rise of Hate groups should make all citizens anxious about the path the US is walking towards. We have seen this before and the rhetoric from politicians we have heard before.Voting in November to guide a new path of compassion with human dignity.human rights for all , and better civil rights for everyone is paramount. This is 2020 let us move forward. If we ignore the past it will come forward in a tsunami of hate ,if we remain silent that is compliance.

Metropolitan Empire Prize

Awarded the Metropolitan Empire Prize on October 29th ,2017.

I attended the prize ceremony in New York which was held at The American Folk Art Museum. It was closed for our event and I had the pleasure of meeting fellow artists and organizers. Michael Lam the artist who is based in New York, was introducing the event as an ambassador for New York. He is a wonderful artist and I was pleased to see his is also a finalist ,like myself ,in the Global Awards in Dubai this coming year.Photos were taken by the organizers and we were all filmed for a video of the event. Many thanks to the organizers at the museum for hosting us with such kindness. Congratulations to all the artists.

Vincent Desiderio Workshop in Orvieto Italy.

This coming july I will be studying with Vincent in Orvieto in Italy. This is a tremendous opportunity to see how two artist work together as Bernardo Siciliano and Vincent will be teaching the daily workshops. They have a major exhibition of their work going on at the same time and as I understand the core of the course is to discuss the theory and execution of subjects and turning them into complex works of art.

I spend many hours researching history in areas that I am interested in; at the moment this involves the Ancients, visiting Mesa Verde was illuminating and extremely useful to my research. With the photos from that trip and my new research into the Medieval Life, rituals ,feasts and festivals,Embodiment and burials, I am confident this workshop will identify new areas of working methods that I can pursue to make my paintings more complex. I love drawing and will be using inks and large sheets of shellac paper for oils. Will keep you up to date of my progress on this journey.
