Artist Statement 

In my paintings, I like to record a social documentary of people in current society. I want the viewer to be able to observe my paintings and grasp a sense of the person who lies behind the eyes, the intelligence,the humour ,and most importantly ,the soul. 

'the direct stare of the face must engage the spectator in order to say anything about life.' 

Living and working in two different cities has impacted my artwork greatly. My time spent in London and Europe opened many doors for my art pieces and reconnected my art to the history of Europe in a manner that I was not expecting. Returning to Houston, Texas, will also bring new challenges and I look forward with open eyes to these influences.

Lecturer, Grays School of Art ,Aberdeen, Scotland. 1991-1992- worked on a part-time basis in the jewellery department. Involved with students studying for  BAHons and mature students studying part-time. 

Founder/CEO, Rosslyn Duncan Fine Art, London / Houston-2001- til present. 

Relocated to Houston,Texas. Studied with renowned prolific oil painters throughout the States. Exhibitions throughout Texas. Took on several students for private lessons in Texas. 

Exhibitions and Awards.

Exhibiting at The Vatican, exhibition runs from the 30th of May-8th of June, 2015.-Historic building of the ancient Chancellory in Rome1*500, owned by the Holy See,exhibiting with artists from Europe,exhibition includes photography,painting and sculpture.

Exhibiting at the Piazza del Popolo, in Rome from the 19th of May- 5th of june 2015.- Awarded The Rome Imperiale International Artist Award 2015.
